Why the notes always sound right
The six bars are a pentatonic scale, which is the scale with no clashing intervals in it. A child can hit every bar in any order and it still sounds like music rather than noise — so the game rewards experimenting instead of getting it right. Sound is generated in the browser, so nothing is downloaded and the toy works with the volume on or off.
