A gentle Halloween story · 4 minute read

Flori, Luna, and the Little Pumpkin Light

A not-too-spooky Halloween: choosing the smallest pumpkin, scooping it out, giving it a friendly face, and carrying its light out into the dark.

An original Flori & Luna story, written deliberately without ghosts, monsters or masks. Halloween is an old autumn festival that reached North America with Irish and Scottish emigrants; the part of it that suits a two-year-old is the light in the dark, so that is the part this story keeps.

The smallest one

The patch was full of enormous pumpkins. Flori walked past every single one of them, and chose the smallest pumpkin there was.
