One empty tile
In a sunny tile workshop, Flori found a blue-and-white picture tile with five empty spaces. Luna touched one corner with a careful paw. ‘Portugal can help us paint the pictures,’ said Flori.

A wave in Belém
Beside the Tagus, Belém Tower stood pale and strong near the water. A little river wave curled onto their tile—the first blue clue.

A star over Sintra
High in Sintra's wooded hills, Pena Palace seemed to gather every bright color. Flori painted a small star while Luna looked up at its towers and domes.

An arch in Porto
In Porto, houses climbed above the Douro and the Luiz I Bridge swept across the river in one enormous metal arch. The third picture fit neatly into place.

A shell on the Algarve
At Ponta da Piedade, golden cliffs opened into sea arches and tiny coves. Luna found a shell shape in the rock, and Flori painted it blue.

Two lakes in the Azores
Their last clue waited inside the great green caldera of Sete Cidades: two neighboring lakes. Two blue circles joined the wave, star, arch, and shell.

A tile full of Portugal
Back in the courtyard, the five clues made one finished picture. Flori held it up while Luna wagged. Now the tile remembered a river, palace, bridge, coast, and island lakes.
