This is an original, child-friendly Flori & Luna adaptation inspired by the Portuguese stone soup legend associated with Almeirim. The traditional telling features a clever friar who begins with a stone; our version centers shared contribution and does not reproduce a modern adaptation.

A stone for soup

In a sunny village square, Flori placed one smooth stone beside an empty pot. 'Can a stone make soup?' everyone wondered. Luna sniffed the stone, then sniffed the vegetable baskets.

One onion

A neighbor brought one round onion. Plop, it went into the pot. 'It is a small thing,' she said, 'but it will help.'

Two carrots

A child brought two bright carrots. Chop, chop, went the grown-up knife safely at the cooking table. Luna counted with two happy tail thumps.
